"Well done is better than well said." - Benjamin Franklin.
Great song, though. That should be our new motto.
i just realized that i think you will pull a clean sweep on me this week. there is not one wod that i have in the bag. i may finish them all, but you will finish first. you are going for a 6-0 victory. why don't you do the extra crossfit wod that i did on monday and beat me your final beat down will be a victory lap.
I will try. It'll give you something to look forward to this weekend. That's going to be tough, though. Your thruster beast is an unbelievable time. That's going to be the hardest one...the other ones I have no idea on, so I can go into them not knowing how bad it will suck, but the thruster heaven will cast me into outer darkness pretty quick I imagine.
i hope you plan on doing the main site wod as well, i may have the inside track on that one simply because of the volume of pullupers.
hey ladies! i got back from beach camping this afternoon and my wife and i did mini cindy after we unpacked and showered the kiddies. i did 10 rounds and she did 8.
i'm going to see if i can do thursday and friday's wod tonight. you guys are kicking some serious butt this week!
Good to have you back Naylor.
The OHS WOD put me out of commission. My legs were shot both Thursday and Friday (the feeling where they're so sore you think you're going to tear something the next time you squat down to sit). Very uncomfortable time. During the OHS WOD, I had this very strange pain in my right knee. I shrugged it off throughout the WOD and pushed through to make sure I could beat Jake, and eventually it subsided during the WOD.
Then, today, I was doing a few warm-up goblet squats (was planning on making up all 3 WODs today), but the same feeling in my knee was back in force today.
I scratched the remaining 3 WODs and did:
105 ring dips
Clean & Jerk practice
5x95lb
5x115lb
5x135lb
5x155lb
1x175lb
1x185lb (failed)
1x185lb (failed)
2x155lb
100 GHD sit-ups (I bought a GHD machine at a local consignment furniture store today for $70).
Bench practice
5x155
5x175
5x185
5x205
5x175
Incline bench practice:
5x175
8x155
I wish I would have been able to finish all the WODS and take a clean sweep. As much as I liked the WODs this week, they were a bit squat/leg work intensive if you look back at it (OHS, thruster, goblet squats, back squats, SDHP, etc). The SDHPs were the exercise, to my surprise, that first got the soreness in the legs going, then the 110x95lb OHS just shot them.
massive disapointment.
you're not the disappointment, i'm just disappointed that i didn't get to see you writhe in pain for days after the 75x2. there should be a major penalty when the person who inflicts such pain never even attempts the wod.
i was craving slow heavy weight wods such as the bench press, incline bench, clean and jerk or other exercises that would target different areas like ghd situps. for 3 days i hammered the squat over and over and over twice a day. i was begging for mercy but it never came. i was almost in tears from the squats adding soreness on top of soreness and pain on top of pain.
So remember this week, it's recovery time for me and since i'm prescribing, i'll probably stay away from the squats until deep into the week. it's monday, the 5th full day removed from the 75x2 and my legs are finally feeling the soreness subside. so if you see some odd wod's this week don't be surprised.
I was writhing in pain w/o the Thrusters. Seriously, I would have blown my knee out had I continued on with the squat fest that was last week.
Massive oversight on my part. The entire week was filled with squats and more squats. There's no way I could have finished. None. I'm not going to attempt any squats for a few days just to see if it helps.
And, you had vacation to relax/rest with. I still had to take care of business here. Not all of us can take the kind of breaks you take head hancho. Some of us actually have to work for a living.
when you said that you had to take care of business was that just another way of saying "it's business time?"
jake 42,000 lbs squatted
tom 10,300 lbs squated
i came home from the family reunion weighing 165. i left janesville at 160. i added a solid 5lbs to my legs in 3 days during recovery from that 'squatting heaven' week of yours. you didn't need the leg strength from your wods as much as i needed it. so, thank you for a great week and i will spare you all the 'one wod whimp' remarks as a show of my gratitude.
17,100 for me, thanks.
Buchanan's are known for fuzzy math, so I'll forgive your feeble attempt.
All I know, is I'd rather do 17.1k and be able to participate this week than do 39.5k (like you, another feeble attempt on your part) and be unable to walk because I'd have gone through reconstructive knee surgery.
Just sayin.
Hear me now, believe me later.
