Now I know why it is called Eggs and Legs. I didn't have a 62 lb KB so I did so I used my 36 lb'er and doubled the workout to match the 10,000 lb weight. I did 5 rounds of 33 kb snatches per arm per round, plus the jump squats as Rx'd. As far as eggs go, my hands are eggs. I recieved 3 blood blisters, 2 which broke loose in the last round. Ouch! Time of 38:20.
named only because it rhymes. we drove past the vegas club a while back and they were advertising a breakfast special called 'eggs and legs'.
after the wod i thought of simply re-naming it 'blisters'. i'm like you berb, staring straight at 4 big blisters. don't worry tomorrow and wednesday will be light with no hand usage. and thursday will be day off. in addition to the hands my back is hamburger too. that last round was the man maker, my sweaty hands were slipping all over on that kettlebell.
I did a total 108 snatches @ 95lbs. Total weight snatched = 10,260.
My hands are raw...at least 2 blisters and my calluses under my ring finger are still burning (1+ hour later).
This was 10x worse than Saturday's 300 + 300. Variety makes it a lot easier to stomach the pain...but doing the same thing 108x, plus the 100 jumping squats, were painful.
It's seriously been a long time since I had sweat dripping off my forehead during a routine, but today was that day. The sweat was flying...I took a 10-minute cold shower and I'm still sweating.
berb, you're an animal. i figure you using that black kettlebell, weight of 39lbs, (not 36) you just moved 12,870lbs from the ground to overhead. that's amazing. in comparison, i did 10,230 lbs. you did 330 total reps and you could have gotten away with 257 total reps or sets of 26 instead of the sets of 33. you are a beast of unknown proportions.
not to mention that you used that black beast kettlebell that sticks like glue to your hands.
my hand is still burning(from the blood blister)...8 hours later. it didn't hurt all that bad until I washed my hands. and yes, that black beast really tore me up. that was the first wod in a long time where i too was dripping and flipping sweat all over.

Berb...do you realize you did almost 12,000lbs?
330 snatches (2x5x33) @ 36lbs = 11,880.
You did roughly 50 snatches (25/arm) too many. Beastly man.

berb,
i'm amazed. that was some serious snatching. that's a ton of repetitons, i'll bet your heartrate was through the roof.
are you doing 33 snatches per arm per round? so, 66 total a round?
no not 33 per arm, it's 33 total per set between both arm.
my figures were based on a 62lb kettlebell. the main point was to get 10,000 lbs from the ground to overhead in 5 sets.
tommy did barbell snatches. berb did a 39 lb kettlebell. just figure out how to get 2000 lbs from ground to overhead in each set.
cool. I'll use my 70lb or 53lb kb. i suck at kb snatches, i always get a wicked bruise on my forearm.
finesse naylor, finesse. let the hand sneak under the bell.
and get used to the 2 pooder. you'll need it later this week.
tell homer to get a 70 lber too. he's holding out. maybe we need a collection pot for him.
