CHALLENGE # 5 - Friday

CrossFit CowBell Total - 1 Rep Max

Back Squat
Shoulder Press
Deadlift
Bench

The last time we did this was nearly 2 months ago (07/15/2008). It's time to revisit our old friend.

Here are the totals from last time (squat / press / deadlift / bench):
Jake: 245 / 125 / 285 / 215 = 870
NayNay: 455 / 205 / 475 / NA = 1,135
Berb: 275 / 145 / 335 / NA = 755
Tom: 290 / 145 / 314 / 240 = 989

"The worst thing one can do is not to try, to be aware of what one wants and not give in to it, to spend years in silent hurt wondering if something could have materialized – and never knowing."

Squat / Press / DL / Bench:
300 / 160 / 345 / 245

CFT: 805 (+56 lbs)
CBT: 1,050 (+61 lbs)

I need to work on my squats. DL felt surprisingly good. My 2nd attempt was at 330 and it felt like my arms were going to get ripped out of my sockets. I upped it to 345 on the last attempt and actually felt like I could have done 10-15lbs more.

I'm not sure how productive the CBT is, though. I was pretty zapped by the time the bench came around (last). I know I could have put up 255+ w/o doing the other activities...but was pretty zapped after the DL effort.

way to go groover, a nice improvement of 55#.

what do you mean that you need to work on your squat?

My squat was very weak. I think its time I hop on your squat improvement routine thingamajigger. I need to work both on my form and strength, but form/depth is foremost on that list.

The 300lbs almost toppled me over. I felt like crumpling but knew I might die if I did so...
