Bruce Lee Week...

The Bruce Lee Week starts in less than a week...hopefully we're all ready.

If anyone is wondering why it's named the Bruce Lee Week instead of, say, the Chuck Norris Week or the Hard Routine or anything else, need only watch this video:

Anyway, enough of Chuck Norris. Is there any interest in doing one structured workout this week as a group? By structured, I mean we all do it and report on the website our results like we will do next week.

I was thinking of a CrossFit Total (squat, press, deadlift) if only because that, along with what we're doing next week, will provide us with a good baseline to note our progress over the next 5 weeks.

I would be interested in one or two structured workouts this week as long as running is excluded. The impact of running is still bothering my left knee. Lifting however does not bother it. I did the Crossfit total on Friday and was astonished by my progress. My previous Total was 560 lbs. Friday's Total was 265 lbs for deadlift, 140 lbs for the press, 235 lbs for the squat, which is a Total of 640. That is an improvement of 80 lbs. Not bad for hardly ever doing deadlift or squats and not bad for a recovery week from our race.

slow down there berbie, you're going to blow us all away. berb, you're officially the new behemoth. sorry tommy he has you beat, you're not the behemoth anymore. moving that house by yourself that's yesterdays news.

my vote is to pick 3 wods for the week. the total is a good one. and do something with pullups or muscle ups(40 yesterday) so that i can show my superiority.

another wod we should do is a modified jackie, modified because not everybody has access to a rower. do 100 53lb swings(instead of the row) 50-45lb thrusters and 30 pullups for time.

Jake needs to slow down. We're still resting you nitwit. I'm not going to do 3 structured WOD with you overachievers this week when the real week starts next week.

My back is still recovering and I'm not interested in inflating Jake's muscle-up ego any more than it already is.

You can save you're Jackie WOD for the week that you're responsible for WODs. I'm doing Tom speed this week...and I'm going to enjoy my last week of relaxation before the Bruce Willis fiasco week.

Berb, you are an animal.

I'm not sure who is more animal, Berb and his Total score, or Jake and his no resting after the ultra.

Jake had me do a fran two days after the ultra and hasn't slowed down since. Where do you get the energy? I'm trying to take it easy for a couple of weeks and you guys are grinding me to the ground.

Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water my friends. Clearly, I'm the crashing water and you guys are the flowing water. Keep on flowing on.

those words were written by you. i showed interest. is that what you wanted? i'm a little confused. what is it you want?

we have to prove to the crossfit world that you don't need to live the zone diet to have energy and succeed at crossfit. besides bruce didn't live the zone diet, and neither did chuck

I said one. Not 3 amiga.

Another question...how is it that berb can only press 140? you're the beast...you should at least be putting up 225...

Berb said...

Please give me some tips for the press. For the deadlift I learned a hand hold method and it allowed me to lift an additional 30 lbs.

Nevermind Berb. I was thinking of the bench press and envisioning you only put up 140 on the bench made me wonder how that could happen.

Excuse my brain farts.

a simple hand hold gives you an extra 30 pounds? only berb has that much reserve in the tank.
